Local Ingenuity
iPads are so 2010. You just need a man, a van, a TV, a ladder, and some cabling skills. And Voila! A true Mobile HD TV. BYOC (Bring your own chair)!

Clearing Sale
I have to admit that English is not my native language and I am constantly making mistakes, which is why I have a wife who is also my editor. In fact, I once accidentally misspelled “warehouse” as “whorehouse” in a business letter and ended up entertaining the office for weeks. So, I can relate. Queens entertains us every day with some ‘state of the art’ misspellings like this one.
Understandably the video rental business is tough in this digital (read: pirate) age. Giants like Blockbuster are filing for bankruptcy left and right, and so you know little bodega video stores are having to try even harder to survive. I guess they are using any sales tactics at their disposal, including deep discounts on ‘forbidden fruit’ adult cinema juxtaposed with cute puppies. Hey, I guess they have the whole gamut. One stop shop!
Vintage Toilet Seat – Take a Look
This ad was posted in a shop window in our upcoming neighborhood. I have so many questions, where to begin . . .
- Has it been in use for 35 years?
- Is it hand crafted, hand polished and hand cleaned?
- If the seat could ever speak, what would it tell us?
What questions do you have? Email me.
Casual Church
I cannot get enough of Queens. Love is in the air regardless of the season or your denomination. There is a battle on the streets here for your soul and nobody is left behind. Even if you are casual smoker, drinker, or lover, and also for your casual “Kidz,” there is even a place for you too - Father’s Love Church, “A Casual Church.”
New Job Opportunity
Hey guys, the job market is BOOMING these days (as spotted from this ad in the subway)!
I already had my mid-life crisis a couple of years ago, but I wish I had seen this ad at that time. So now sadly I realize I lost a career opportunity, but for those of you who are still considering “Changing Your Life” and beginning an exciting new career with “Growth Opportunity” and “Paid Training” can call the phone number in the ad. They forgot to mention they’re an equal opportunity employer, so hedge fund managers are welcome to apply as well!
Free Spirit
Queens is full of surprises. You never know what business is going to open up next door. But New York is a free-spirited and tolerant place. Feel free to interpret the picture as you wish.
Mine is: The spirit roams free from JC to JL . . . and not that there’s anything wrong with it!
